Riots all over the Middle East has caused gas prices to go over $4.00 per gallon in California and may hit $5.00 per gallon by April.
"Those riots are going to bring just about everything you buy to increase because it takes more gas for the products to be delivered", stated Harvey Mumford of the National Grocers Association.
"Many people forget how many products are made from oil. But they will as soon as they go out to purchase anything."
Another grocer stated that he was upset that shoppers were blaming his line of stores with trying to use the oil crisis as an excuse.
"That's not true", stated BullMart executive, Wally Muffin. "The real key is what the protesting will lead to. We have no choice but to raise prices. If Mr. Obama from Kenya would allow us to get heavy into digging our own crude, this could be avoided."
In a nationally advertised letter in all major newspapers, the grocers are saying pretty much what Muffin was saying to us.
"If you think the price of oil is jumping, wait until you see the new prices for cheese. Those rioters in Wisconsin and that Governor should make some kind of deal as soon as possible or the mice will overrun the whole country!"
