The illustrious clergyman, Pastor Terry Jones, who recently threatened to burn Qurans to 'send a message' to Islam, is being sought to play "Poopdeck Pappy," Popeye's crusty father, in a remake of 1980's "Popeye" movie.
"HE'S PERFECT," shouted producer, Buster Bloc. "I'm tellin' ya, the moment I laid eyes on this character, I knew he was my perfect 'Poopdeck Pappy.'
Jones is being offered the sum of five million dollars to star opposite Cameron Diaz, Bloc's choice for the starring Popeye role.
The part involves smoking a pipe, which Pastor Jones opposes.
"I'm not much on smokin' the Devil's weed," Jones recently commented. "But then again, I'd have an opportunity to set something on fire in public, and that ain't all bad."
Shooting begins at Ground Zero in New York City in early February.
