PHOENIX AZ (AP) Sheriff Joe Arpaio called a press conference after hearing that President Barack Obama might visit Arizona to campaign for the reelection of Sen. Harry Reid. At the press conference, the sheriff reiterated his plan to demand proof of citizenship, a "long-form" birth certificate, from the President before allowing him to visit the city.
Said Arpaio, "Barack Hussein Obama may call himself the President of the United States, but in Maricopa county Arizona, he still has to answer to me."
Before being tazed and jailed, one brave reporter asked the sheriff what would happen if Obama refused his request. As the reporter was being led away, Arpaio ranted, "I'll deport him to Mexico, just like all the other illegals in Maricopa county!"
A second reporter, who was also tazed and arrested, pointed out that most people who doubt Obama's citizenship claim he was actually born in Kenya, to which the sheriff replied, "Muslim, Mexican, Kenyan... What the hell's the difference? If he's not white, he has to show proof of citizenship just like everybody else. In my county, we treat everybody the same."
In other political news, reporters were shocked and amazed Friday when Republican Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle, speaking at a fund raiser, actually said something that wasn't completely bat shit crazy.
She later retracted the remark, explaining, "I was just joking."
