Not since the movie Caddy Shack has a rodent created such havoc. Chipmunks, like most mammals, cannnot be easily stereotyped. Mostly by their appearance, they are identified as being somewhat arrogant and mischievious.
Here, in the snooty enclave of Martha's Vineyard, they don't suffer rodents kindly.
Possibly because Katie Couric, like Barack Obama, is afflicted with buccal fat pads, the medical term for chipmunk cheeks, she first reported on Monday CBS News that the Secret Service had apprehended a chipmunk that was allegedly "acting, talking and looking like" the president.
As if that were not enough, while the rodent was being cuffed, he said that he was "buying shrimp."
