The tide appears to be turning in the NY GOP Governor primary. Rick Lazio is dropping off the media radar screen, and Carl Paladino is gaining in the polls.
"Lazio's just not sexy," said columnist Fred Dicker, "Paladino is more entertaining, with the gaffes, the racist remarks and so on."
Lazio is appearing less and less in various media. Even satirist , Rick Andrew Carl is covering him less. Speaking from a mirror, he explained: "Our job is to make the news funny. Rick Lazio isn't. It's like making fun of soup. Give me a Carl Paladino any day. That sells papers."
It's unclear whether the media blackout will help or hurt Lazio. Paladino's coverage mostly makes him look like an idiot, but it's hard to predict how that will play in the minds of Republican primary voters.
