England's Queen Elizabeth is planning a quick trip to New York City Tuesday and expects a full schedule of appearances. Among the stops on her itinerary is a visit to Coney Island where she'll officiate over a re-match of the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog eat off.
The re-match was called after former six-time champ, Takeru Kobayashi interrupted the Sunday event expecting to be allowed to compete halfway through the challenge. Kobayashi was arrested for the disturbance and locked up overnight.
Said a Nathan's official, "Had we known the "Tsunami" (the nickname Kobayashi goes by) wanted to eat, we would have let him eat. All he had to do is ask, but when he rushed the stage like a madman, all bets were off. To be fair, we have scheduled a re-match and invited Queen Elizabeth to officiate."
When asked why Queen Elizabeth, he said "why not? Who better than a person whose family heritage allows us to trace gluttony all the way back to before King Henry the VIII? Besides, a fact few people know, the Queen adores hot dogs."
