Immigrants south of the border are fleeing Mexico due to a 2009 law Mexican President Calderon signed making it a crime with steep penalties to not have proper immigration documents while in the country of Mexico, and upholding even stricter Mexican immigration laws making it a felony to migrate to Mexico illegally. Mexican law mandates jail time and deportation for illegal immigrants with up to 10 years of incarceration for repeat offenders.
Meanwhile, Labor Union, Pro-Amnesty and Open Borders organizations organized and sponsored "May Day" rallies against the law in cities from Los Angeles to Atlanta. Rally spokespeople who wish to remain anonymous in order to protect their identities so they could commit coordinated acts of "spontaneous" vandalism and violence without fear of arrest Violance At A Non Tea Party Rally?pointed out that it is just 'Absolutely racist" to require people to have ID or be able to positively identify themselves if they don't have their Id's on them.
Encarnacion Ricardo Francisco Humberto Juan Garcia Hernandez, Spokesperson for LAGURN (Latinos Against Giving U Real Name) voiced the concern that Arizona's law might force immigrants from south of the border to give authorities their real name instead of any of 30 possible aliases or be detained while their true identification and immigration status are determined. "Is there a law against failing to properly identify yourself or something?" he said in closing.
