Los Angeles, California. Just in time for Christmas, an unidentified duo has kidnapped the CBS News team live on air while they were reading the evening bulletin. The kidnappers bound and gagged the newsreaders just after they had read stories updating the Tiger Woods extra marital saga.
The newsreaders were then hustled out of the studio while cameras kept filming and bundled into a VW microbus for transfer to a unknown location. A mysterious email was later received at CBS TV studios indicating that the hostages would be released if a suitable ransom was paid to the kidnappers. The amount has never been disclosed.
The general public have been shocked by the turn of events.
"So who's gonna read the news now? Joe the camera man?" asked one viewer. Some viewers have volunteered their services as vigilantes in order to save the hostages but CBS and the Police Dept turned down their requests.
For now, the CBS evening bulletin will be read by a standin (probably David Letterman) until a solution is reached in concluding the hostage crisis.
