The two most prominent females in the conservative movement continue to make big news today in dueling headlines across the country. No sooner than Palin had told Shaun Hannity on Fox News that she would be honored to have Glenn Beck as her running mate in 2012, Carrie Prejean called a news conference to announce that she and Mickey Rooney would marry in the Spring. Both announcements caught followers of the two women by surprise.
"I am totally shocked" said Bill O'Reilly of Palin. "She could have done a whole lot better right here at Fox News. I never liked her anyway."
It was Prejean's announcement however that caused the most buzz in the media world and the conservative movement. "I never would have believed it" said Henry Kissinger. "He is so old and short, she could have done a whole lot better"
A reporter asked Ms. Prejean how long had her romance with Rooney been going on and she replied,"I have always loved Mickey. I remember watching old re-runs of the Andy Hardy movies,he was sooo cute" The reporter followed up, "But, Ms. Prejean he is eighty-nine years old, isn't that a bit old and isn't he a lot shorter than you and well, what about marital bliss, you know, fulfillment?" "We will be just fine" Ms. Prejean replied, "I am a very resourceful and self reliant woman. I like short guys if you know what I mean and Mickey says after Ava Gardner and five wives he knows what works and what doesn't work and well, that between his old Andy Hardy movies and my old sex tapes, we will be just fine"
When told of Ms. Prejeans's press conference, Palin responded, "Talk about going rogue, seems like she was doing better on her own. I watched those old movies when I was an infant and always thought Mickey Rooney was a little twirp. Anyway, she could have waited a few days, maybe she didn't want to take the chance."
Asked about his reaction to Ms. Prejean's announcement Mr. Rooney commented "hubba, hubba, hubba"
Mike Huckabee was heard to comment on hearing the news, "All things come to those that wait, the Lord works in mysterious ways."
