A new national study shows a strong connection between the swine flu and individuals who regularly shop at Swine*Mart outlets.
The study-among 13,000 swine flu victims in 13 states-found evidence that customers of the giant mini-grocery chain catch the disease with about double the frequency of non-Swine*Mart shoppers.
A Swine*Mart spokeswoman denies any connection. Hilda Hogg says "our stores are actually swine flu-free zones. That study is just plain hogwash. The only way I've heard of to get the disease is by eating too much bacon or dining at a Denny's."
Study spokeswoman Sarah Scholar disputes the Swine*Mart claim--adding "Hogg is just an ill-informed fat pig."
