The "You Lie" Tour, 2009

Popular Republican Congressman Joe Wilson has announced that he is going on a "You Lie" tour for most of the rest of the year.

Being encouraged by his home state of South Carolina, Rep. Wilson will begin the nationwide part of the tour with a massive rally in New York City's Central Park in late October. Over 1,000,000 people are expected as each has already sent in his $1.00 as a token affection for Wilson.

Joe's son, also a politician, says that the staff in South Carolina who helped his dad get elected to congress in the first place, are using the money to have "You Lie" ten-second commercials to pop up at any time on Nationwide television.

Also, all citizens who support Wilson are asked to send in as many cards and letters to the President in Washington DC as they can to have the word's "You Lie!" printed on them and on the flap of the letter in case they quit opening them.

At his latest rally Saturday at the American Veteran's Benefit Center in Irmo, South Carolina, a crowd of 10,000 showed up to hear Joe shout, "YOU LIE!" five different times with each shout and each round of applause getting louder!

There was then a big picnic and following that, Joe took the stage once again to once more shout, "YOU LIE!" at the top of his lungs, which the crowd picked up and continued shouting for about half an hour before everyone held hands and sang, "We Shall Overcome" before going home.

Next weekend, Joe is scheduled to appear at a South Carolina NASCAR race and then in two weeks, make a brief appearance at the Grand Old Opry in Nashville before heading to Central Park.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
