Kanye West yesterday upset US President Barack Obama by storming the podium during an inaugral address aimed at reforming the banking system.
There were question marks over the President's security when the diminutive R&B star, or whatever he is, strolled up to the stage at Congress and took the mic from a smiling Obama.
But the smile, some say fixed grin, was soon wiped off the confused, some say dithering, President's face when Kanye turned to the various congressmen, many of whom had been busy doodling on their desks, and proceeded to offer his own take on the banking collapse.
Kanye told them: "Let me tell you right now those Lehmann brothers did the best corporate video of last year and need to be recognised for their fiscal creativity.
"And while I'm at it, Beyonce should have got the Moonman video of the year award that she did got at the MTV VMAs.
"Health care. What about wealth care?"
Beyonce, seated with Jay Z, at the glitzy Congress bash, smiled because she knew he was right but also tried to look a bit sheepish because she knew it wouldn't play for the cameras.
Stunned, some say confused, congressmen feared Kanye might start talking in angry capital letters as he does on his webblogs and gave him a standing ovation as they filed out to lunch.
Kanye was last seen berating secret servicemen over their choice of designer sunglasses.
