Washington, D.C.-Like the boy who pointed out that the emperor had no clothes on, Congressman Joe Wilson's inner- child escaped just long enough to shout out the obvious: Barrack Obama was lying.
The incident took place during the presidents speech on health care reform to a joint session of congress at which more than half of the attendees were stoned out of their minds. To rapturous applause from one side of the aisle, the president went on and on, extolling the virtues of involuntary servitude to a captive audience.
And while most republicans sat on their hands through-out the speech one small voice cried out. That voice belonged to little Joey Wilson, who had the audacity to say what no one else dared. "You lie!", he shouted, pointing an accusatory finger at the president.
The errant child was quickly ushered from the hall but his simple statement became the headline, over-shadowing anything the president said, and occupying talk show hosts for hours afterward. When asked for a statement, Representative Wilson merely replied, "What can I say? I'm sorry. I guess My inner-child suffers from Tourretes."
