First daughters Malia and Sasha Obama have opened a lemonade stand on the White House lawn near the visitors entrance. They are the first official residents to sell foodstuffs from the Executive Mansion since Amy Carter (the Bush twins buying beer from their secret service agents not counted).
Thus far, their after school enterprise has been a huge success. The girls have sold out of their product every day and are considering opening a second location across the street at the Washington monument (Malia would remain at the "home office location" and Sasha would work the new store).
The girls charge $1 for a twelve ounce glass of lemonade (ice is 25 cents extra). Persons wanting to pet Bo, the new White House dog, are charged $2 for thirty seconds of petting or ear scratching. If they want to have Bo lick them on the face, that is an extra $3.
When asked what they planned to do with the money, Malia said that "We gotta start saving the billions that the next campaign is gonna cost our Daddy cuz Oprah ain't payin' for that one cuz he didn't make her Vice President."
