John Edwards' mistress Rielle Hunter is "ready for her close-up" with her first national TV interview since the cheating scandal wrecked his career, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER uncovered last fall, that dealt a blow to Edward's seeking the office of President of the United States.
In a startling change of heart or perhaps, plan, Rielle Hunter says has decided to face the cameras head on and has narrowed her choice of interviewer to either ABC's correspondents Barbara Walters of Diane Sawyer, according to sources.
However, Barbara Walters has recently announced her upcoming retirement, so it will most likely be Sawyer.
"Rielle had previously assured Edwards she wasn't going to upset the apple cart," said a close source. "But she's changed her tune after thinking Elizabeth Edwards might disparage her in the upcoming interview she's apparently already taped with the Oprah.
"The interview is scheduled to be broadcast in mid-May to coincide with the publication of Elizabeth's new book in which she's likely to address the whole affair."
As a result, a behind-the-scenes war of words is breaking out between Rielle and Elizabeth, who is also battling cancer.
Meanwhile, most people are hoping Edwards has a tryst with Lorraine Bobbit or someone with similar skill.
