LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Presidential candidate John Kerry showed up for a rally of support from Hollywood and surprisingly announced that Billy Crystal will be his first choice for a running mate.
Billy thanked Kerry and then accepted, only to pull out an hour after the rally, claiming political differences with Mr. Kerry.
Kerry then chose Crystal's friend, fellow comedian Robin Williams, who accepted, only to pull out an hour after the rally, claiming political differences with Mr. Kerry.
Kerry then chose comedian George Carlin, who accepted, only to pull out an hour after the rally, claiming political differences with Mr. Kerry.
Kerry then chose comedian Jay Leno, who accepted, only to pull out an hour after the rally, claiming political differences with Mr. Kerry.
Kerry then chose comedian Jon Stewart, who accepted, only to pull out an hour after the rally, claiming political differences with Mr. Kerry.
The convention in Boston next month will be another chance for Mr. Kerry to choose a running mate.
