image for New Waterfront Hotel Opens in Pascagoula Mississippi

Pascagoula MS: A new luxurious waterfront hotel opened here today. This tourist destination is both a hotel and a theme park. All of the 5,000 rooms are configured to resemble staterooms aboard a cruise ship and the room rates include at sea entertainment and amenities.

Several US shipbuilding companies that have divisions in New England, California, Virginia and Mississippi have partnered to build a giga-cruise ship to compete with Royal Caribbean's 220,000 ton mega-cruise ship, Genesis, currently under construction in a Turku, Finland shipyard.

Employing an economy of scale of approximately two, the US Consortium built ship is 2300 feet long and can accommodate 12,000 passengers, displacing 400,000 tons. The ship was constructed in numerous sections, various sections being built at a participating partner's shipyard facilities, transported to Pascagoula MS and then welded together. When the completed giga-cruise ship was floated from the dry dock, it promptly buried itself 10 feet deep into the Pascagoula River mud.

In the words of the late great Paul Harvey "now you know the rest of the story."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
