Washington DC: At the conclusion of a three day session of the North American Psychiatric Aliiance (NAPA) a joint communiqué of scholarly findings was released. Consensus was reached by the NAPA members that liberalism is a mental condition.
The new mental disease will be known as Reid's Syndrome. This liberal condition presents symptoms of Democratic sponsored overspending; left wing advocacy, taxpayer's overload, large bloating of budgets and Federal Government sponsored social engineering.
It should be noted that while 70% of the members acknowledged Reid's Syndrome as a valid mental disease, 29% of the members did not. These dissenters still felt the presented symptoms were physically caused by the Pelosicocus virus. The remaining 1% held to the discredited notion that the Bush bacterium was responsible.
Overall 99% of the members agreed that treatment should consist of a large dose of that old time tonic "Republican fiscal conservatism." Republican Pharmaceuticals Inc., a minority owned company, is currently working on producing this cure.
