"The Phantom", the chimpanzee that has been the orchestrator of many recent jewellery heists, struck again last night in a daring raid in a famous New York jewellers.
All that is known of "The Phantom" is that security footage outside of a jewellers that was robbed 3 months ago, showed the culprit to be a chimpanzee.
Since that time a number of high profile jewels have been stolen all having a banana left in place of the prized gem.
Last night's attack was no different, seeing a small window opened and the thief seeming swinging from beam to shelf in the room, avoiding the various high levels of security. The chimp then managed to cut through the thick glass that the diamond was being held in.
The diamond, the "Star of Africa" had been on loan from the Tower of London as part of a worldwide tour of the Crown Jewels.
It is not known what the chimp is planning to do with the gems that he has been able to amass.
