The chameleon like Mr Barack Obama gathered a diverse majority to fuel his wild ride to become the first black man in the White House.
Among the many shoulders that hoisted Mr Obama on high to the highest office in the nation, were the older peaceniks of the '60's Vietnam War era. As if Barack had become the reincarnation of Gene McCarthy and RFK, post-hippies rallied round Obama.
In the phenomenon of selective listening, anti-war Americans seemed to block out Obama's hawkish pledge to kill Osama Bin Laden and escalate the war in Afghanistan. So sick of Bush and inebriated by opposition to the Nam-like quagmire of Iraq, doves of every variety and species flocked to Obama failing to heed his sharpened hawkish talons itching for his own brand of death and destruction.
