Washington resident and Hulk Hogan fan Ving Hammerman said "I didn't see it, but I heard that she made an awful mess. It's going to take a long time to clean it all up."
The clean-up operation is currently in full swing and is expected to take up to 24 hours.
Clinton's husband, the former American president Bill Clinton, was unavailable for comment but is said to be feeling 'a bit disappointed'.
Clinton is believed to be the third politician this year to explode.
