In a not-entirely-surprising move to political insiders, Barack Obama announced today his selection of Angelina Jolie as his Vice Presidential running mate.
Ms. Jolie said that she was "thrilled" to be offered the prestigious position and said that she intended to use her office to promote world peace and global understanding and enactment of laws prohibiting injection of collagen into women's lips.
Ms. Jolie, who confirmed that her film premiering on November 4, 2008, "The Savage, Insatiable Lust of Julia Child, Secret Agent", would be the first in which total nudity would be the norm, rather than the highlight, of the film, said that the numerous graphic sex scenes were necessary to convey the desperate tone of the times when death was always close at hand."
Mr. Obama said that Ms. Jolie was an exceptionally attractive running mate, a quality has been shown to be THE determining factor is recent political races.
The McCain campaign, on the other hand, has all but decided on offering the VP spot to Jennifer Lopez, an actress who, while, perhaps, not achieving the unearthly beauty of Angelina Jolie, is still a knockout, and will draw more Hispanic votes to McCain.
