The title Green Card Holders- Cannon Fodder praises the flood of Hispanic Americans who have joined the all volunteer army in these days of high unemployment and costly higher education.
Citizenship offers to Green Card Holders has increased their numbers among the Iraqi War dead considerably. The commercial does not mention that the corpses of the Green card Holders are often deported to save the military funeral expenses.
Truth in advertising analysts point out that the number of Latinos and Latinas in the military is higher than their percentage in the general population. That is, unless you count the number of Hispanic officers. In that case, they are seriously under represented. Military spokesperson I. Espeaka Espanish explained:" We have found that the Latino soldier is best suited for direct combat. These are men and women of action. They get really bored in the safety of the officers' war room."
