Hillary Clinton picked Obama as her running mate after clinching the Democratic nomination last night.
'I hereby select Obama as my running mate,' she smiled wildly, her tooth showing.
'He deserves it more than anyone; though he didn't get the nomination, he came close, and I won; so, together we will make a great team. We will defeat McCain in November.
'While I am away as President, he would hold the forte. I trust his judgement. I would go around the world defending our country, striking trade deals.'
Senator Barrack Obama, 46, said: 'It is a privilege to be her Vice President. She has run a tremendous Campaign.'
Maggie Williams, Clinton's Campaign Manager said: 'It shows the capacity of Democrats to unite after rancour.'
Terry McAuliffe, Clinton's Financial Chair said: 'This is a great day for democracy.'
Senator Hillary Clinton, 61, succeeded in garnering enough delegates yesterday.
