Barack Obama's surging movement of Purocrats, democrats who are so scandalized by the Clintons' many grievous faults that they are backing a semi-righteous nobody, met a serious defeat at the hands of Penn's Quakers.
Quakers, the Society of Friends is famous throughout American history for their tolerance and forgiveness. They harbored Red Coats during the revolution, assisted the Underground Railroad in slave days and have gone to prison rather than fight in the US wars of imperialism.
Purocrats like their historical ancestors the Puritans are renowned for their judgmentalism and unforgiving hearts. Their fear of sin has often driven them to extreme moralistic persecution as in the witch hunts of colonial New England. Like many legalistic sects, they often search for a supreme leader who will be their symbol of the return of purity.
