TheSpoof.com, one of the premier internet websites for fake news, has recently fired hundreds of its writers for submitting what editors claim are "true stories".

"TheSpoof.com is not a place for truth," one editor told reporters. "Just look at the name, people. We want to provide people with lies and bullshit, and occasionally a laugh."

Some experts are contributing the recent firings to the economic recession in the U.S., citing that 63,000 people lost their jobs last month. The Spoof denies such claims, saying that "its not a money issue. Just an issue of truth."

Most of the writers who have been fired, however, could care less.

"It's not like we were getting paid anyway," one anonymous former writer said. "There are other ways to get fake news published. I don't need The Spoof."

Other writers found a way to fight back.

Despite the lay offs, TheSpoof.com has seen a recent boom in writership, with hundreds of new writers being added daily. One anonymous tipster revealed the truth, and would probably be fired for it if we revealed his name here.

"Hundreds of us are just creating a new name with a new email account," the writer claimed. "TheSpoof.com has no idea what is hitting them. We can write all we want, and they can't stop us."

TheSpoof.com is planning on finding ways to fight these name changers, but have yet to come up with a plan of action other than to look at suspicious names. They already caught one suspicious writer, who was fired under the name of bartsnopes and is now believed to be writing as bartlebysnopes. The website has yet to take action against this writer, but has warned all of its writers that any true articles will result in "an immediate ban for life."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
