The 2008 Peabody Awards were announced Sunday morning and the nominees this year in electronic media range from controversial, to funny, to novice.
Some of the 2008 nominees include:
- The TODAY Show, outstanding morning show
FOX & Friends, outstanding morning show
Hannity and Colmes, outstanding comedy series
Bill O'Reilly's 'The O'Reilly Factor', outstanding comedy series
The Eric the Midget Show, outstanding radio show
The Rush Limbaugh Show, outstanding radio show
The Office, outstanding comedy series
Family Guy, outstanding comedy series
Eric the Midget of Howard Stern Show fame scored his first nomination and Peabody judges will not rule out his contention as being a possible winner.
"Eric's deep and abiding intellectual take on America Idol is what synched his Peabody nomination. His show is riveting, absolutely riveting. The long lapses of silence and echo on his show are groundbreaking and courageous. His show easily rivals Rush Limbaugh with regards to raising public discourse and commentary."
