John McCain's campaign was officially in the red at the start of the New Year. Senator McCain proudly stated that he has no problem operating his campaign or the country, for that matter, in the red.
"Look, I am not trying to hide the fact that I was in negative fund numbers in my campaign; I'm not trying to hide the fact that I will run the country in negative numbers. Have you looked at my past bills, votes and proposals? Welcome to the Straight Talk Express. You don't ask a horse [sic] to change it's stripes do you?"
