SHELBY COUNTY, KY -- Residents of tiny Baghdad got a rude awakening at five thirty this morning when U.S. planes dive-bombed and completely destroyed the town.

"We were asleep and suddenly the air raid sirens went off," said one dazed resident. "We thought it was the terrorists comin' to blow us up. Then we found out it was our own planes that bombed us. I guess they took a wrong turn or somethin'. But they're winnin' the War on Terror, right? So I guess it ain't all that bad."

The U.S. Army issued a heartfelt apology to the now mostly dead residents of Baghdad, stating that certain vital pieces of military intelligence got "mixed up" and were sent to a West Virginia-based Air National Guard unit instead of military command in Iraq.

The U.S. Government awarded the few survivors of the bombings season tickets to University of Louisville basketball games and framed autographed photos of President Bush.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
