The sequence of jokes that G W Bush made on Wednesday about not being able to find WMD has generally caused hilarity and major yucks.
Says Army commander James Holton, "Since returning from Iraq I have been haunted by the face of a small boy who I hit with a stray bullet. We couldn't finish the battle in time to do anything for him." He then added, "But what Bush said just made all that seem like a big hoot."
From his jail cell at a undisclosed location Saddam Hussein declared, "Boy, is my face red!"
And in Bush's native Texas, the mother of a soldier who died only last week in the continuing Iraq conflict had this to say: "Of course I'm sorry that my son died, but if he had to go I'm glad he went for comedy gold like this."
In Washington, Bush and his friends all went for a slap up Micky D's and the American casualties continued to rise.
