Deep in the Heart of Texas (Lone Star Press) - Heightened security efforts along the US/Mexico border by drone surveillance aircraft and National Guard troops (who are somewhat akin to the British Territorial Army) have caused illegal immigrants to resort to drastic evasive measures.
Known 'people smuggler' Homer Gomez (shown at right) actually ingested another man for a handsome fee. He then crossed the border from Mexico into the US where he regurgitated the other fellow -- now a free man on American soil. Fortunately for the man, Mr. Gomez also carried a fresh change of clothes and shoes that he could change into later.
Although the other man got away, Mr. Gomez has been detained and will likely win an all expenses paid trip to The Guantanamo Bay Resort and Spa.
