San Francisco, California - (Rotters): A San Francisco taxi driver, Michael Byrne, is suing the city's official Taxi Commission after it allocated him what he calls a demonic badge number that registers his cab as No 666.
Byrne's lawsuit says he was maliciously allocated the registration after countless previous drivers rejected it following a series of catastrophes, horrific accidents, mishaps, disasters and non-stop bad luck.
In a deposition filed today Byrne's attorneys say that one previous holder of the demonic registration number "burned to a crisp on Good Friday" after a mysterious case of spontaneous human combustion in the cab "leaving the only visible thing after the fire the numbers 666 of the taxi's registation plate".
As if that wasn't bad enough, exactly six years, six months and six years later the new holder of the demonically numbered badge was killed on Halloween on the junction of the City's Sixth Avenue at 6.06pm after his brand new cab exploded without warning.
Twelve subsequent holders of the No #666 badge registration have all returned it citing sudden onsets of manic depression, suicidale tendencies, bizarre accidents, inexplicable bad luck and weirdo passengers "who even by San Francisco standards have scared the living daylights out of the drivers."
The Taxi Commission has said that the bizarre events are unconnected and is defending the malicious aspect of the lawsuit.
