South Lake Tahoe, California (Reuterus) - Fire investigators may have discovered the cause of raging wildfires in the region and are warning the rest of the country to be prepared for the same.
In four days, the Angora Fire has consumed 3,100 acres and destroyed 251 structures (including 176 homes). Suspicions point to arson and the suspect is Mother Nature, though she apparently left no evidence to go on.
"This looks like the handiwork of Mother Nature," said one investigator who identified himself only as Fire Marshall Bill. "She sure is a clever lady."
As firefighters on the ground attempt to get the upper hand on the blaze, fire lookouts expect to catch the suspect in the future. Her actions appear to be tied to the slumping housing market, as she thins out the surplus inventory throughout the nation.
