Washington DC - (Ass Mess): New York Democrat Senator Charles Schumer has been treated in hospital for Lime disease after being bitten by Dick Cheney during a recent incident when he took a post-prandial nap in the Senate's lounge.
The Senator said he initially suspected 'some freakin' insect' after an itchy rash developed on the side of his neck.
"But the bite soon turned ugly and the teethmarks could only have come from one set of dentures.
"God knows how much blood might have been taken."
"I'd been tramping through the Bushes with Congressman John Hall to check some data," the senator said, "and just dozed off for forty winks.
"Next thing I know there's a telltale 'bulls-eye' mark near my jugular."
Schumer is now undergoing intensive anti-venom therapy incluing a 21-day antibiotic treatment.
A period of quarantine may be necessary for Congressman Hall in case any cross-infection occured by accident.
