Manhattan - (Ass Mess): Embattled former radio talk-show host Don Imus is fighting back over his recent CBS sacking by hiring high-powered Manhattan lawyer Martin Garbage.
Garbage has a fearsome reputation and a to-die-for client list including comic Lenny Bruce, rap group Pubic Enema, NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg and the ultra litigious former first lady Nancy Reagan.
Business analysts in New York are speculating that Imus may be squaring up to fight his dismissal and is seeking as much as $50 million compensation from CBS under contractual small print by arguing a complex Fifth Amendment position.
Garbage once successfully argued that Nancy Reagan had the right to demand the US Justice Department shredding of all her husband's KGB career records 'becasue their publication might cause her considerable loss of public image'.
A statement from the lawyer's website is expected later this week.
