Toledo - (Disaster Press): In a bid to recruit better congregation numbers the pastor of Toledo-based CedarCreek church has resorted to appealing to the widest possible demographic profile via a Holy Week crucified Satan billboard promotion.
"We know you're just dyin' to join us!" is the message displayed on a hellish background formed of images from Baghdad and Fallujah.
Another billboard shows baby Satan lying in the manager as a puking Mary and Joseph beg Bethlehem social services for help with a "This could belly-up badly" message.
A third depicts the adolescent Satan partying with badboy Pharisees at a Cana'a wedding drunken brawl with an "Ain't nobody gonna nail me over this one" message below.
CedarCreek pastor the Reverend Lee Powell admits it's an unusual use of advertising to promote his Easter Message to the locals:
"We've tried everything else. Then someone suggested a bit of artistic licence to promote the greatest story ever told. And the numbers are begining to stack up. So Halleluia! And Happy Easter!"
