Tampax, Florida - (Rioters): Police officers say that Anthony Giancola, principal of Van Buren School, bought a load of cack in his office while students were on campus and gleefully thought it was narcotics.
The undercover sting happened after Giancola confronted apparent cannabis-smoking students and ordered them to hand over their illicit stash or face immediate expulsion.
When told it had all been smoked he gave the students a 7.30pm deadline 'or else I'll mark down all your grades.'
But the wily professor had not noticed that the smokers were all 30-something undercover narcotics officers who had enrolled as students over five years previously in what the local DEA called a long-term sting.
When the evening deadline arrived Giancola handed over a $100 bill and demanded his spoils. The cops then pounced as the hapless school head attempted to roll up dessicated rhubarb leaves that had all the appearance and smell of high-grade weed after a male cat had sprayed them in a routine territory-marking.
"Let this be a lesson to all", said the arresting officer who, as a young student many years previously, had been expelled by Giancola from Van Buren for some minor misdemeanor.
