Southern Methodist University professors are protesting the building of the George W Bush Presidential Library on their campus.Dean John Wayne Crockett led the fight : "We , Southern Methodists differentiated ourselves from the Methodist Church in the 19th Century by our support of a Biblical foundation for the morality of human bondage. One gigantic boo-boo per millennium is enough for us!"
Professor of Library Science, Dr. Gaither Fines wondered aloud: "Does the President know you put books in a library? Maybe a Presidential Museum dedicated to implements for clearing brush would be more fitting..."
Bush defenders on campus decried the liberal elitist snobbery. Many claimed that there are plenty of very valuable comic book collections and copies of "The Pet Goat" Storybook 1, by Siegfried Engelmann and Elaine C. Bruner (ISBN 0-02-686355-3) have become priceless since September 11, 2001. "Coloring books are art!" declared a Neo-Con Art Professor of Paint by Numbers.
Bush is staying away from this debate according to sources close to the President. The only leaked remark came from a distant relative attending one of the President's frequent BBQs in the oval office: "George said the fuss was ridiculous! Didn't they know he married a liberrian?"
