Florida man Gerry Jackson is desperately searching for a family he can celebrate the upcoming Black Friday holiday with, determined this year not to spend it alone.
"For the past few years I have really not done much to celebrate Black Friday," explained the 45 year old Floridian, "Often I just joined the crowds of shoppers hunting for bargains; and somewhere along the road there I forgot the true meaning and significance of the day."
Jackson, to rectify this, has placed an advert in his local paper, asking for an African American family to join him for a traditional Black Friday dinner of fried chicken, collard greens and mango juice - followed by an evening of watching 'The Cosby's'.
"It's only fair - we get 'White Christmas' - so I think this year I am going to make effort - and do the right thing."
As yet no one had responded to his ad.
