Ellen DeGeneres is a proud new mom, now that her adoption of an 8-year-old Costa Rican girl is official, DeGeneres' rep tells Celebrity Gossip Magazine exclusively.

The girl's name is Selena Gomez Ramirez, born in November 2005, according to the orphanage where she has lived. Her name means Strength and Vigor.

"Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my kid," the famous talk show host wrote in the visitors' book of La Fortuna Orphanage Costa Rica, according to Celebrity Gossip Magazine. "I am sure the child will miss your beautiful, caring staff as much as you will miss her."

DeGeneres' rep says she took custody of the child on Thursday in Costa Rica. They remained in the country for about a week while the child's American passport was processed, the rep says.

The girl had been living at the La Fortuna Orphanage Costa Rica ever since she was abandoned at a hospital as a baby, according to adoption officials. Shortly after she arrived at the facility, staff attempted to locate her birth parents, but to no avail.

The girl started crying when she was told that Ellen DeGeneres and her husband Portia de Rossi wanted to adopt her, so she could be taken to America to eat Hostess HoHo's cakes.

She calmed down when the staff reassured her that if she behaves really well, she might get lucky enough to eat the famous American Hostess Ding Dongs that everyone in Costa Rica is always talking about.

The girl was then showed a picture of a Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings and a picture of Ellen DeGeneres' lavish Montecito Mansion in the Santa Barbara, Calif. area.

"I know what I have to do to make Ellen happy, so I could eat Hostess Ding Dongs in America," said Selena Gomez Ramirez.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
