Politico s reporting this afternoon they have the actual recording of Paul Ryan greeting Governor Mitt Romney just before the announcement of his pick as Romney's VP running mate. The campaign is vehemently denying it but the tape proves otherwise. You can clearly hear Ryan saying in an exuberant voice, "Can I wear big boy pants now?" Also heard clearly is Governor Romney answering, "Yes, Pauly, but for God's sake put the Yo-Yo away!"

Ryan, who is known in Congress for his youthful appearance, boyish ways, and his initial arrival for his first term in his Boy Scout uniform, seemed nonplused by Romney. He started his acceptance speech with the following: "On my honor, I will do my best…"

Romney interrupted: "Not now Pauly! We have an election to win! Just talk about the budget thing the guys wrote for you in Congress! Here's a copy. Now smile, say something nasty about the colored guy, and for God's sake put the Yo-Yo away!

Ryan: "Mitt?"

Romney: "WHAT?"

Ryan: "Do you like my big boy haircut?"

Several journalists heard Romney say to aides as he walked away from the podium, "My God, he makes Dan Quayle look like Teddy Roosevelt!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
