White House and Pizza Hut Stand off over as Compromise is Brokered

Funny story written by El Presidente

Tuesday, 26 June 2012

The weeklong crisis involving Pizza Hut, President Obama, some expired coupons and the United Nations has ended thanks to the intervention of former Monkeys drummer Mickey Dolenz.

Talks between President and Pizza Hut had at one stage collapsed completely as both sides resorted to name calling and threats of legal action which prompted the United Nations to declare an emergency and appoint former Monkey's drummer Mickey Dolenz as a special envoy to try and broker a deal between the two sides.

Luckily Dolenz did what was asked of him.

After several hours of talks Pizza Hut finally agreed to honor coupons the President had found in a drawer at the White House that offered $5 off his next purchase, even though it transpired the coupons had expired and had belonged to former incumbent Bill Clinton.

"Though the coupons were over 13 years out of date Pizza Hut said they would honor them" beamed Dolenz "It just goes to show you what can happen through diplomacy."

The crisis seemed to be heading to an armed conflict, with the President threatening at one stage to take a baseball bat to the head of Carlos, the restaurant manager.

"We are just glad it is over" said a White House spokesman "It's a shame though that they didn't get the order right, he specifically asked for thin crust but a deal is a deal."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
