A spokesperson for Rick Santorum has announced that if elected President, he intends to adopt the Biblical Cubit as the official unit of linear measurement for the United States. This change would encompass all U.S. Government Departments and Agencies, including the military and AMTRAK.
The Cubit is a traditional unit of length, based on the length of the forearm. Cubits of various lengths were employed in many parts of the world in antiquity, in the Middle Ages and into Early Modern Times. The Cubit has previously been determined by Biblical Scholars to be exactly 16.3222 inches in length.
According to the announcement, both the Tower of Babel and Noah's Ark are examples of engineering undertakings that utilized the Cubit.
