BURBANK - GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul made an appearance on Jay Leno's Tonight Show and the Texan made some interesting comments.

The 76-year-old congressman informed Leno that he plans to stay in the GOP political presidential race to the very end.

He went on to say that even if he does not win the Republican presidential nomination he still plans on running for the office of president of the United States.

Leno was extremely surprised as he asked, "But Mr. Paul sir, wouldn't that only end up hurting the Republican Party?"

Ron Paul smiled and remarked, "Well duh! Jay I can clearly see that you have more than just a GED huh fella?"

"Well actually sir, I graduated Cumma Sum Later from Oxford in England." Leno replied with a sheepish grin.

Paul got a puzzled look on his face and then stated, "Oh, I see now, you made a 'funny' huh kid?"

Leno giggled. He then asked Congressman Paul if the rumor that he was going to be making a guest appearance on The Vampire Diaries was true.

The congressman replied that it was in fact true. He expressed that he had personally been asked by Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev as the three had lunch at a Burgers-In-the-Round in Hacienda Heights.

He revealed that he will be portraying Giancarlo Salvatore, grandfather of the Salvatore brothers, Damon played by Ian Somerhalder and Stefan played by Paul Wesley.

Originally he was to have starred as the ex-mayor of Mystic Falls the honorable Zambeer F. Lunamoon, who had been impeached for his involvement in The Counterfeit Garlic Scandal of 2006.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: Congressman Ron Paul is the only one of the four GOP candidates who has refused secret service protection. He said that he does not need it since he is an expert at karate, judo, kung fu, jujitsu, and fencing.]

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
