Washington,D.C.-With the deadline drawing nigh there was one thing on the mind of Democrats on the so called "Super Committee": how to dig out of the financial hole they made for themselves playing Monopoly.
Lead by Congressman Paul Ryan,(Reformed Drunk), from Wisconsin, the Republicans dominated the game almost from the start. Although not a member of the committee per se, his winning strategy all but ensured a Republican victory.
The Democrats initially focused on acquiring property with each member buying whatever his token landed on. This meant that complete sets- so necessary to develop properties-were few and far between.
The republicans, meanwhile, pooled their resources and thus were able to rapidly develop housing and hotels, adding further burdens on the Democrats, who were forced to pay exorbitant rents with their resources already running low.
"Oh, sure. There was some talk of budget cuts and such," said Senate Majority Leader Pro-Tempe, Harry Reid,(Drunk)from Nevada, offering a rare glimpse into the workings of the committee, "but with so much riding on a Democratic victory, we really had to concentrate on winning the game."
As of this morning the committee still hasn't reached an budget agreement but Republicans were still leading Democrats on, milking them for all the Monopoly money they can get.
