The residents of a small New Jersey town are today fuming after the town was omitted from a list of venues for the upcoming Rolling Stones tour of America.
Scooterville (pop 246), a town famed for its wildlife park, Man from UNCLE Conventions, municipal car park and of course its affiliation with the late great Larry Cockspur, inventor of the overcoat with wings and of course the water powered tricycle.
''We cannot believe we have been snubbed'' said Mayor Henry Cockspur, I mean the whole town would have shown up to see them, it would have been a sellout. I am very disappointed.''
At first it was thought that the Stones had made a mistake, in leaving out this most famous town, however there was no mistake.
A Rolling Stones spokesman told the AP that he was sorry that the town were disappointed but did add ''Is this the same place where they held the world dungaree championships? Mick and the boys love dungarees, if we had known that we would have definitely played there.''
