WASHINGTON: Chaffing at criticism from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that the Geneva Conventio was breached by the killing of Colonel Gaddafi, the White House backed down on taking credit for his assassination.
White House spokesman, Jay Carney, said that the initial reports that NATO planes were involved in Gaddafi's demise were unfounded. Reading from a prepared text, Carney said that "the autopsy done by Libya's Coroner in Chief determined that Gaddafi was 'hung like a camel.'
Carney, who yesterday had a smirk on his face when he announced that President Obama was high-fiving everyone in the Oval Office over the news, today would not take any questions from the startled press corp on the revised story.
