Mr Murdoch explained: "We still want a presence in people's houses, even if we are not in the their newspapers all the time."

If the deal goes through, starting next month, News Corporation will begin advertising their various products, newspapers, media interests on the inside of your cereal packet.

The first advertising campaign is for a new TV sitcom, inspired by the life of Rupert Murdoch: Two and a Half Men, and their rich, but long estranged grandfather.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
