Controversial Glam Rock pop singer Gary Glitter outraged many English Christians today by declaring that he was in love with euthanasia and wished that it was legal in Finland.
Soon after making that statement a large crowd of English Christian activists, lead by the Archbishop of Canterbury gathered outside Mr Glitters London home waving anti euthanasia placards and singing hymns.
The crowd dispersed when Mr Glitter recanted his earlier statement, claiming that he had been misquoted. What he actually said was: "I am in love with a youth in Asia and I wished that it was legal in England".
Later today Mr Glitter boarded a BA flight to Vietnam and refused to make any further comment.
