A Spanish sweet manufacturer has dropped a galactic bolock, launching a new candy bar called The Chocolate Star Fish.
The advertising campaign doesn't help either having the slogan: 'Go on, give it a lick.' The phrase best known for describing one's bum is often used in the gay community, but it appears nobody at the Spanish firms PR department realised this.
A representative said: 'We wanted to launch a series of fish shaped chocolates and decided to start with a star fish, however it looks like that's not going to happen. We had adverts planned showing women tonguing the chocolate while making the sound 'Ummmmm' and then the phrase 'Everyone wants to lick our chocolate star fish' appears underneath.'
Other catastrophic ad campaigns with double meanings were: the hover mower that was 'Great at uphill gardening,' the blood coagulant drug that was every necrophiliac's friend and possibly the worst of all: an internet site set up to rival the biggest blogging sites out there called 'Les be friends' which was missing a 'T!'
